You could find the roots of Katsushika Hokusai in Isumi City. We have someone who affects him very much. The name is Yoshinobu IHACHIro Takeshi, was known as “Nami no IHACHI” of his nickname. It means “IHACHI as leading transom engraver of waves”. His transom sculptures what seem to affect Hokusai’s works are at Izunadera-temple and Gyoganji-temple in Isumi. We could realize how Hokusai’s works and IHACHIs’ are very similar, Hokusai must have been affected by the works. Katsushika Hokusai had very famous creations, “Thirty –Six Views of Mt. Fuji”. Especially “The Great Wave Off Kanagawa” from his “Thirty –Six Views Off Mt. Fuji” was possible to affected by IHACHI. You will enjoy such IHACHI’s sculptures as below!
